278) Stair location discovered

278)   Stair location discovered - December 22, 2004
Volunteers scraping paint in the basement stairway discover the faint outline of what was probably the original stairway to the second floor at the Squire's Tavern.  We know the existing stairway was not the original but were never sure exactly where the original stairs were located...until today.  As restoration work progresses on the Tavern the old building is giving up more and more of its secrets.

Walt Landgraf measures the faint outlines of what must have been the original stairway from the first floor to the second floor of the Squire's Tavern.
